How do I compress an image online?

Drop any number of JPG, PNG or WebP files onto the box. Each one is decoded onto an HTML <canvas> in your browser, optionally resized to fit a max dimension, then re-encoded at the quality you pick. No network round-trip, no upload, no server-side processing.

Which format should I pick?

For photos: JPG at quality 80–90 is usually the sweet spot. If the image has transparency, WebP keeps the alpha channel and compresses better than PNG. If your destination (old CMSes, some email clients) doesn't support WebP, stick to JPG.

Does compressing strip EXIF data?

Yes. Canvas re-encoding does not preserve metadata, so GPS coordinates, camera model, timestamps and colour profiles are stripped. For most people sharing images online, that's a feature.
